Blanche Moore was a cousin of my grandmother's, Lydia Anne Watkins, and they were very close. I remember visiting "Cousin Blanche" as a child when she lived in the house the Moorefields own now. She was quite a lady, and Blanch can be proud to be named for her! My grandparents built the house in Blanch that Wayne and Linda Bray now own, and they raised a family of 11 children. After he turned his dairy farm over to a son, my grandfather also ran the post office and train station there. It was before my day, but have heard many stories of the "hobos" who road the trains during and after the depression and stopped in the area. My grandfather bought some beautiful pieces from peddlers who rode through (former shop owners who had lost all but their merchandise). Some of those things have been handed down through the family."
