Danny Ricketts I have a lot on the Gregory family. Posey Lester's grandfather John Branch Gregory and his brother Nathan Lowry Gregory both died at Gettysburg on July 3, 1863. Two other brothers Richard P. and Wilson Tucker Gregory died as soldiers in the Confederate Army. My wife Nancye's ancestors were Gregorys and go back to Hezekiah Pigg who owned the Pigg Mill on Pudding Creek (later Jones Mill). Richard Dennis Gregory (b 1795) and wife the former Elizabeth H. Pigg, the father of the soldiers above, lived for a time on land she inherited from her father Hezekiah Pigg. Some say they moved from the low grounds around the mill to higher ground because of the threat of malaria. Richard and Elizabeth has 12 or more children.
