      15 Jul 1843 was sentenced to ten years in prison for embezzling the mail, was pardoned by President Tyler in 1844. (Case 1212 Hamilton Co. Oh.)

      NOTE: After John died (Drowned) Amanda did not receiver any pension. There is a story that after John's death, she disappeared and left others to raise the children.
