The eldest son of John and Mary Morehead was Charles R.(4.58) He married, in 1756, Mary Turner, the daughter of James Turner and his wife, Kerenhappuck Norman. Kerenhappuck was the daughter of Isaac Norman and Frances Courtney, whose residence was in Spottsylvania County, Virginia.

Turner Gustavus Morehead, son of Charles and Mary Morehead, was born 07 January 1757. He married twice, first to Ann Ransdell/Ransdale on 07 June 1779 and secondly to Mary Ann Hewitt Hooe. (It should be noted here that certain genealogies state that Mary Ann was the first wife and that Ann Ransdell was the second.)

Ann Ransdell, Turner Morehead?s first wife, was born on 17 August 1756 (some researchers give Ann?s birthdate as 02 August 1756). Turner and Ann gave birth to nine children: Gustavus, born 28 January 1780; Margaret, born 28 September 1781; Nancy, born 09 March 1783; Mary, born 01 May 1784; Turner Gustavus Jr., born 08 May 1785; Armistead Ransdell, born 28 January 1787; Matilda, born 18 May 1789; Sally, born 11 January 1791; James, born 04 January 1793; and Henry, born 08 August 1795.
