State police reported that he was pronounced dead in Harford Memorial Hospital, at 4:05 a.m. The accident occurred at 2:55 a.m. at the intersection of routes 40 and 7, near Foy?s Hill. (d-12/20/1967)
PAUL ARTHUR REYNOLDS Wednesday Morning One-Car Crash Kills Perryville Man; Two Critical A Perryville man, Paul Arthur Reynolds, 29, died as a result of injuries suffered in a one-car crash, near Charlestown, Wednesday morning, December 20. State police report that he was pronounced dead in Harford Memorial Hospital, at 4:05 a.m. The accident occurred at 2:55 a.m., at the intersection of Routes 40 and 7, near Foy?s Hill. Two other passengers in the car, John Edward Steimel, 17, and Columbus Ward Rinehart, 19, both of Charlestown, were admitted to Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre De Grace, in critical condition. The driver of the car, Robert Paul Jones,111, 17, of North East, was treated and released at the hospital for lacerations of the head. The investigating State police officers, Trooper 1/C L.D. Upperco and Corporal H.G. Boulden, said that Jones apparently lost control of the car as he entered Route 7, from the eastbound lane of Route 40. The car first ran off the left side of Route 7, struck an embankment, crossed the road, and while skidding sideways, hit a tree. (8/6/1938-12/20/1967)
