12 Jun 1760 John Hodnett to Higginson Barksdale, of Cumberland Co., conveys 820 a. on Willis River in Albermarle Co., (later Buckingham). N.B. Willis River is on the boundary between Buckingham and Cumberland.
23 Feb 1762 an old Plat Book in the Buckingham County Clerk's office shows a plat of a tract of 275 a. on south fork of Willis Creek surveyed for Hickerson Barksdale. Most of the Buckingham County records have been destroyed.
Page 79; Deeds of Charlotte and Cumberland for Hickerson and Betheny (Giles, d/o Nicholas Giles and Mary his wife, of Henrico), his wife of Buckingham; Hickson qualified as exr. of his brother, Collier.
1783-85-86-87 Hickerson Barksdale reprenented Buckingham Co., in the Virginia House of Delegates [Clerk, VA. H. of D.L., 9/14/37.]
