      3. Meaken Reynolds, (1.Moses1) b. 1796 in Virginia, d. 9-May-1883 in Patrick Co., VA. Meaken Reynolds was one of the wealthiest men of the region at one time. In the October 1855 Court Session, he and two of his sons, Alexander and
      Abram, were indicted for the murder of one Green D. Satterfield, a carpenter of the region. Mr. Satterfield's body was found in a cave near the home of the Reynolds, death was caused by a gunshot to the head. It isn't clear to this writer how the body was discovered, by whom, or how the Reynolds happened to be charged with it. Records are very scarce at this writing. His sons were subsequently cleared and released. Meaken (spelled Meakin by the court)was sentenced to prison, served several years after which time he
      adjourned to Texas for awhile. He served as a Major in the Mexican War. He returned to Patrick County a broken man, penniless. He died of Cancer at the age of 87. The death was reported by his son, Jack Reynolds. He married Mary "Polly" Reynolds, married 25-Jan-1820 in Patrick Co., VA,
      b. 1802 in Henry Co., VA, (daughter of Jesse Reynolds and Oney (Unknown)) d. 8-Mar-1883 in Patrick Co., VA. Mary: Cause of death, "Old Age." Death reported by son, Jackson Reynolds.

      The Indenture maid this the 12th day of September in the year of our Loyd crist one thousand eight hundred and thirty three Between Meekins Reynolds of the County of Patrick and state Va of one part and Robert tuder of the said County and State of the other part in witness whereof the said Meekins
      Reynolds for and in consideration of the sum of twenty five dollars to him in hand payd by the said Robert Tuder at or before the inscribing and the delivery of these presents the script whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold releast and confirmed unto the said Robert Tuder his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract pies or parcels of land lying and being in the County of Patrick on the waters of the Roring Fork being a part of the Land that the said Meekins Reynolds bought of the legatees of Tyree Reynolds dec'd containing twenty five acres all the same mor or less and bounderd as follows to wit.
      Begining on the roring fork at the mouth of a branch on a beach there running Eastwardly thence the way to the said Reynolds is and Anglin's pereters on two chestnuts trees as the crops posted on the vdg there with Anglin's line to Anglin's and Ingrum's and Sawliples corner post oak there Northwardly to down the vdg to a corner to a poast oak there westwardly to a white oak
      corner in Elijah Spencer's line Southwardly with Spencer's line to a corner in a troginey on the creek then a conditional line to the Begining.
      With all wods ways water and water coarse forever trees orchards houses and all other the amoluments appurtaining or in any wise belonging thereunto the have and to hold the same to him the said Robert Tuder his airs and assigns forever against all my heirs my wife mary and her heirs neither of us or our heirs and all and every other person or persons whatsoever either in law or equity recovering claiming or having any just rite will or estate ther in but do by ther presents forever warrant and defend the land and pressuses a bove
      mentioned to the said Robert Tuder his hers and sucessors to hold and fully injoy the same. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and afixt my seal the day and year abov riten.
