  Davis, Lemma Reynolds Danville Register & Bee (VA) - Friday, September 8, 2017 Lemma Reynolds Davis, 99, of 224 Easter Drive, Danville, Va., died on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Sovah Health, Danville. She was born on March 10, 1918, in Pittsylvania County, Va. to the late Ella Jackson Reynolds and the late Linwood Reynolds. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William H. "Buck" Davis, Sr. Mrs. Davis enjoyed her life as a homemaker. She was a humble and faithful servant of the Lord, with such a sweet spirit, angelic personality, and beautiful smile. Mrs. Davis was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church, Danville. Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughter, Sandra D. Short and husband, Bobby of Dry Fork, Va.; her sons, William H. Davis, Jr. of North Carolina, and Steven L. Davis, of Danville; her sister, Hazel Gregory of Danville; as well as eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Davis was predeceased by her sisters, Rebecca Adkerson, Frances Hudson, Mary Flanagan, Bessie Crane, and Ruby Hutson; and her brothers, Doug Reynolds, Thurman Reynolds, Jerry Reynolds, Beverly Reynolds, Linwood Reynolds, Beacham Reynolds, and Dale Reynolds. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, with the Rev. Mike Hearp and the Rev. Myron Bruce officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017, at the funeral home prior to the service, and at other times at the residence of her daughter, Sandra Short. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to the Mt.
