    • Levi Monroe Jackson is the grandson of James Samuel
Jackson. His father James is Martha Ann Jackson's (w/o
Allen Gilmer Reynolds) brother. He married Ellen Rigney in
      1894 and it is said that he adopted her 4 younger children;
      (Not proven as of 2011)
~ Death Certificate 195, Caswell Co., Pelham, Aug 4, 1933.
Address given as RFD 5, Danville. He was a farmer. His
obituary printed in the Danville Bee, Sat. 5 August 1933:
Funeral services will be held Sunday morning at eleven
o'clock for Monroe L. Jackson who died last night shortly
before eight o'clock at the home of his daughter Mrs.
Walter Gauldin near Shady Grove Church. Services will be
held at the home of Mrs. J. M. Rigney on Wylie Avenue. Mr.
Jackson was 84 years of age and was a native of Callands
being a son of the late James Andrew Jackson of that place.
Mr. Jackson is survived by the following children: Mrs.
Walter Gauldin of Shady Grove, Madison L. Jackson of
Martinsville, Mrs Ida Oakes of Gallances and Mrs. Hoppie
Rigney of this city. He also leaves one brother, James
Stonewall Jackson of Texas, and a sister, Mrs. Cora Tate of
Danville. (Ida Oakes was not his daughter but his
step-daughter, thought to be the daughter of Ellen Rigney
and Benjamin Turner Clements, her long-time protector.)
~ The death certificate gives his name as Monroe L.
Jackson, age 82, Farmer, son of James A. Jackson and Martha
Thompson. The informant for the certificate was Pearl
Rigney. He was buried in Leamont Cemetery but there is no
