      "BOB" CARVER, 80, DIES ON FRIDAY; RITES SATURDAY

      Jesse Martin Carver, known to his friends as "Bob" Carver, 80 years old, died Friday morning at his residence near Young's Mill, after an illness of four months.

      Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Mispah Methodist church. The Rev. J. A. Thacker will officiate, with interment in the adjoining cemetery.

      Mr. Carver had been a resident of Floyd county all his life and was a prominent farmer. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist church.

      Surviving him are five children, Clay, of Adairsville, George, of Rome and John Carver, of Sand Mountain, Ala.; Mrs. Jessie Davis and Mrs. Lizzie Poney, of Rome; and the following step=children, J. D. Carter, of Rome, Mrs. Gladys Morrow, of Columbus, Ga., Mrs. Emma Hyde and Mrs. Lois Pope of Silver Creek.

      Pallbearers will include William Carver, Charleston Hammond, Dewey Carver, Robert Young, Tom Jones and Coleman Young.
