  Married: It is believed that Henry Barksdale was twice married before his arrival in Henry County. Both of his wives bore the Christian name of Judith. No documentary evidence as to their surnamessurvives; however, from the given names of his sons, it appears probable that the first wife was a Dudley or a Claiborne, and the second was Beverley, or at least they were connected with these families in some way....
