      MARTINSVILLE MORNING POST, Sat., 27 Feb 1937, Three Cents, page 2, col. 8:

      James Martin Norman, 64, well-known Martinsville citizen and life long Henry County resident, died Thursday night in a private sanatorium at Staunton, Va., following several months decline in health. The deceased, born and reared in Henry County, lived in the Irisburg section until coming to Martinsville in 1920, where he has lived since.
      He was a member of Anderson Memorial Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife and four children: Messrs. J. M. Norman Jr., Leaksville, N.C.; Dock M. and Warren Norman and Miss Mary Norman, all of this city. Five sisters also remain: Mesdames Joe Gregory and J. W. Henson of Roanoke; Clay Moberly, Charlotte, N.C.; Janie Woodson of Leaksville, N.C., & Eliza Martin of Cascade. Funeral services were held from the home Sunday. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery.
